Research interests
Lisa Muszynski, MA (history), is a Doctoral student in the Department of Social Science History, University of Helsinki, Finland. Her interest is philosophy and theory of history, wherein she examines historians’ attitudes / orientations as revealed by their auto/biographies. It is hoped that historians’ auto/biographical reports, in turn, will help to shed light on their roles as situated, ‘social selves’ in time and place, from the perspective of the burgeoning field of neurohistory (Smail 2008). The aim of the research is to investigate the underlying role of the ‘author-historian’ in the ongoing production of historical narratives, for the purpose of providing firmer epistemological footing for the field of deconstructionist history.
