PPhiG research collaboration

PPhiG runs a visiting program at the University of Helsinki, Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Arts Studies.
Research collaboration with the CRESC – ESCR Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change within the Faculty of Humanities, University of Manchester continues. Professor Sarah Green from CRESC was invited as a visiting scholar to work on her research within PPhiG between August and December 2006, and professor Tuija Pulkkinen has been at CRESC as a Honorary Senior Research Fellow between August 2007 and July 2009. A significant new activity takes place within the international research network EastBordNet (ESF COST IS0803).
Research collaboration with professor Kimberly Hutchings (The London School of Economics and Political Science) also continues; professor Hutchings has been involved in a series of Hegel and Gender symposia organized by PPhiG between 2003 and 2007, and Hegel’s Philosophy and Feminist Thought. Beyond Antigone?, coedited together with professor Tuija Pulkkinen, will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in August 2010.
PPhiG has also research collaboration with the Institute for Queer Theory, Hamburg, Germany; Dr Antke Engel, the director of the Instute for Queer Studies visited PPhiG in May 2006, and has co-organized many events organized with the PPhiG.
